Supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs, under the EU50 programme, a two day symposium on "The European Dimension in Irish Education" took place in the University of Limerick on 10/11 May 2023.

The symposium gathered together educators from every level of the Irish education system together with Minister of State for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne T.D., and Minister of State for Skills and Further Education, Niall Collins T.D., and organisations involved in communicating Europe, to discuss and reflect upon the place of European Studies at all levels of the Irish education system, from early childhood through to adulthood.

The Department of Foreign Affairs was delighted to support this symposium and wishes to thank Dr. Joachim Fischer and the University of Limerick for organising this conference at an important moment in the Irish-EU relationship.
