Famous for A-listers, glitz and glamour, there are few places in the world more recognisable than Hollywood Boulevard. And now a small corner of it is getting an Irish makeover.

Co-produced by Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, an ambitious pop-up art show curated by MART Gallery Dublin’s Matthew Nevin is coming to the City of Angels from Tuesday, 17 October until Saturday, 21 October.

Showcasing both visual and performance artists, RE:IN FORCE is set to show the achingly cool west coast city just what Ireland is made of. Some of the most exciting names in Irish contemporary art are exhibiting their work, including Katherine Nolan, Richard Forrest, James L Hayes and David Lunney.

Although the exhibition’s artworks cover a wide range of styles and methodologies, they all focus on the relationship between the viewer and the object. Creation is also a key theme, with the reinvention of common materials and technologies playing a role in many of the pieces.

RE:IN FORCE is taking place as part of Ireland Week, which runs from 16-21 October. From a pop-up Gaeltacht to music showcases to a conference spanning economics and Jedi knights, Ireland Week celebrates every aspect of Irish culture and creativity.

Ireland Week is presented with support from Creative Ireland, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Irish Film Board, Culture Ireland, IDA Ireland, Tourism Ireland and Enterprise Ireland.
