Ireland’s Humanitarian Assistance to Major Crisis
Conflict and natural disasters, compounded by climate change, have led to unprecedented levels of humanitarian need around the world.
Today, over 130 million people require humanitarian assistance and protection. Ireland’s humanitarian assistance targets those most in need, including children, women, older people and people with disabilities. We also prioritise forgotten and underfunded crises, to ensure that no one is left behind. Ireland provided almost €200m in humanitarian assistance in 2016, including 357 tonnes of emergency aid.
