Wellington Embassy Youth Council 2023

Kia Ora and Dia Dhuit,

We are very excited to be the Embassy of Ireland Youth Council for 2023.

As a group we have volunteered to be on this council because we all hold some connection with Ireland. Some of us are from the beautiful country and others have family who are from there. Others have taken a great interest in Ireland for historical reasons.

Rangatahi of Aotearoa New Zealand and Ireland

This year we are making it our mission to build a bridge between the rangatahi of Aotearoa New Zealand and Ireland, encouraging continuous learning and promotion of justice.

We intend on fulfilling this mission through outreach with Youth Councils, Universities and Irish groups within New Zealand and in Ireland.

    I’m a third year student at Victoria university, studying history and international relations.

    I enjoy Irish Dancing and Orienteering. I am from New Zealand, but my mum is from Ireland.

  • Connor Doherty, 18

    I recently graduated from high school, and have plans to move to Edinburgh and love to write.

  • Daniel McNeill, 18

    Outside of study, you can find me reading with a cup of tea at local cafes or wandering around in bookstores within Ōtautahi.

    Born in Wexford, Ireland and moved here at 7. Studying a bachelor of arts majoring in Sociology at University of Canterbury.
