The programme works with partners around the world to tackle poverty, hunger and humanitarian need in over 130 countries.
The development cooperation programme is managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs. The work we do in tackling global poverty and hunger is integral to Ireland’s foreign policy.
Our vision and values
Our vision is for a sustainable and just world, where people are empowered to overcome poverty and hunger and fully realise their rights and potential.
Our work is guided by our policies which place the fight against hunger and global poverty at the heart of Ireland’s foreign policy.
Evaluation and audit
By carefully evaluating and auditing our work, we maintain its quality, learn where we can improve. It also ensures money spent is accounted for.
Irish Aid uses the public procurement process to engage the services of specialist service providers when specialised knowledge or skills are not available within the Department.
