The establishment of diplomatic relations with Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis
Secretary-General Joe Hackett signed a Joint Communiqué with Minister Joseph Andall of Grenada establishing diplomatic relations between Ireland and Grenada on 21 September 2023 on the margins of the United Nations High Level Week.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is delighted to confirm that this year, Ireland formally established diplomatic relations with both St. Kitts and Nevis and Grenada. This reflects Ireland's commitment to establishing diplomatic relations with every country in the region under Ireland's Strategy for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Ireland is committed to building on these new relationships and reinvigorating existing links with this key region, to create a safer, more just and sustainable future.
