Bloomsday in Vietnam

Embassy Hanoi will celebrate Bloomsday in Vietnam for the first time with a Vietnamese version of Dubliners and Ireland for Literature Days in Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi.

On 11 June, the Embassy partnered with Friends of Ireland in Vietnam and VOIZ FM (an audiobook and podcast app. with over 1.1 million subscribers) for Irish Literature Day in Ho Chi Minh city, holding a well-attended TalkShow and launching a Dubliners audiobook.

Ireland for Literature Days in Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi mark the first celebrations of Bloomsday with public events in Vietnam. Taking place at cultural centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city, they include the exhibition, International Joyce; a panel discussion on Irish literature; a screening of the documentary, 100 Years of Ulysses; activities for families and children; and a book giveaway.
